Second Quarter Taxes Reminder

Second quarter taxes are due on November 3, 2014.  First and Second quarter bills were mailed together on June 30, 2014.  If you are unable to locate your bill, please contact the Collector’s Office at (413) 567-1066 and we will send a copy.  The Collector’s Office is open Monday through Thursday 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday 8:15 AM-12:00 PM.

Important dates – Fall Leaf Program and reduced hours for Recycling Center

ABSENTEE BALLOTS ARE AVAILABLE

Absentee ballots are available at the office of the Town Clerk, 20 Williams Street, for the upcoming State Election on November 4, 2014.  An application must be filed to vote absentee.  Absentee voting is available to voters who will be 1: absent from the city or town during normal polling hours; or 2: physical disability preventing a voter from going to the polling place; or 3: religious belief OR a non-registered voter who is: 1: a Massachusetts citizen absent from the state, or 2: an active member of the armed forces or merchant marines, their spouse or dependent; or 3: a person confined in a correctional facility or a jail, except if by reason of felony conviction. Longmeadow Announces Warrior 5k Run/Walk:                               

Support the Wounded Warrior Project and Observe Veterans Day

October, 2014 – The Town of Longmeadow’s Department of Veteran’s Services will be conducting its second annual 5K run/walk on Saturday, November 8, 2014. This event will raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members and support the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that takes a holistic approach when serving warriors and their families to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement.

The Longmeadow Board of Health announces the following schedule of public Flu Clinics for Longmeadow residents 19 years of age or older during the Fall of 2014:

  • WEDNESDAY, OCT. 8, 4:30-6:00P.M.,   GREENWOOD CENTER  (Health Rm. in COA Wing)
  • TUESDAY, OCT. 14, 12:30-2:30P.M,.    GREENWOOD CENTER  (Health Rm. in COA Wing)
  • MONDAY, OCT. 20, 12:30-2:00P.M.,    GREENWOOD  CENTER  (Health Rm. in  COA Wing)

Flu shots are available until the vaccine supply is exhausted on a first-come, first- serve basis.  No appointment is necessary.
