The mission of the Human Resource department is to:
  • Effectively manage the human resource functions of the town including, but not limited to:
    • Benefits
    • Collective bargaining
    • Compensation
    • Policies and procedure compliance in accordance with the federal, state and local regulations
    • Recruiting program
    • Risk management
  • Support the goals and challenges of the Town of Longmeadow by providing services that promote a work environment that is characterized by:
    • Fair treatment of staff
    • Open communications
    • Personal accountability
    • Trust and mutual respect
  • Seek and provide solutions to workplace issues that support and optimize the operating principles of the Town
The Human Resource departmental team will act as a catalyst to enable all town employees to contribute at optimum levels toward the success of the town.

  • Establishing, administering and effectively communicating sound policies, rules and practices that treat employees with dignity and equality while maintaining town compliance with federal and state employment and labor laws, town directives and labor agreements
