Longmeadow Youth Basketball Association

The Longmeadow Youth basketball Association offers this recreational program for girls and boys in grades 1 through 8. Everyone makes a team. Grades 1 and 2 play on Saturday mornings, are primarily instructional in nature, as each 1 hour session dedicates 30 minutes to teaching basic basketball skills, followed by a 30 minute game. Optional clinics for this age group may also be offered on a weeknight during the season to advance players' skills & development.

Grades 3 and 4 , 5 and 6, 7 and 8 teams have 1 practice and 1 game per week with referees at each game. The program emphasizes basketball fundamentals and teamwork. Optional clinics may also be offered for the 3rd-4th grade group.

More information on clinics will be available in late November/early December.

Program runs from early December thru March with practices and games in town and surrounding communities. Optional travel teams are also available for players in grades 3 through 8 for an additional fee collected after selection of travel teams, which occurs through a try out process in late October/ early November. More information will be available at registration nights.


Anyone interested in coaching should sign up during registration; fees will be waived for children of head coaches. Registration fee for all participants, to be determined.

2016-2017 Season


Registration begins on August 22nd on the Longmeadow Youth Basketball Associate website or at the Community House during regular business hours. Checks only will be accepted at the Community House. Online registration may only be processed by credit card payment. If registering online and are interested in coaching, you must notify LYBA via the website. PLAYER REGISTRATION FEES WILL BE WAIVED FOR A PLAYER IF PARENT IS VETTED & APPROVED TO SERVE AS HEAD COACH.

Registration nights will be held at the Community House on Thursday September 29th and Wednesday October 5th from 6:30-8:30pm.  No cash or credit cards will be accepted; only checks at registration nights.  Travel players will be assessed an additional player fee and uniform deposit which must be paid once the travel teams are announced.  Starting October 11th, players can still regiser to pat at LPRD at the Community House or online, but will be assessed a $25 late fee.  In addition, refund requests are subject to LYBA approval and will also be assessed a $25 processing fee.
