Charter Review Committee

The Select Board has established a Charter Review Committee consisting of six members to be appointed for a 1 year term. All members must be registered voters. The composition of the committee shall include, to the extent possible, at least one member of the 2004 Charter Commission.

The functions and duties of the Charter Review Committee shall be to advise the Town manager and Select Board on any changes to the Charter that may enhance the governance of the town. Additional responsibilities include: review the composition and responsibilities of boards/committees, review the legislative procedures, review the administrative organization and financial procedures, and review any other provisions of the Charter as directed by the Select Board.

Residents interested in applying for a position on the Charter Review Committee should send an application to the Select Board’s office, 20 Williams Street or email  by May 30.  Applications can be found here or in the Select Board’s office. Applicants must be available to attend a short interview with the Select Board on Monday, June 5th at 7:00 p.m. or Monday, June 19th at 7:00 p.m. at the high school.
