At the January 16, 2018 Longmeadow Select Board meeting, the Select Board acting as Water and Sewer Commissioners, set the Fiscal Year 2019 water and sewer rates. The new rates will be reflected in the water and sewer bills users will receive in September 2018. The September bill will include water and sewer usage from the last meter reading done in early February 2018 through early August 2018, the next projected meter reading date. The Water Distribution System Charge will again not apply to the FY 19 rates.  Both the water and sewer usage rates will remain the same as the FY 18 rates, water at $3.22 per 100 cubic feet and sewer at $2.50 per 100 cubic feet. The Sewer Collection System Charge (fixed charge which is billed semi-annually and based on water meter size) was not changed nor was the annual sewer use cut off of 220 cubic feet for residential customers.

The Longmeadow Select Board also voted on the Storm Water Fee. Longmeadow residents will also see their first Storm Water utility fee in September 2018.  This fee was authorized by vote at the Annual Town Meeting held on May 10, 2017.   The fee is based upon an “Equivalent Residential Unit” (ERU) where an ERU is equal to 3,400 square feet of impervious surface. The cost of one (1) ERU is $2.25 / month. All residential properties will be assessed at one (1) ERU.  Non-residential properties will be billed on a “Declining Block Rate Structure” as outlined in Article 32 of the previously mentioned town meeting and the Town bylaw Section 2-606 Stormwater Enterprise Fund”
