Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Longmeadow Adult Center! Our Board of Directors and staff are pleased to have you participate in the programs and services offered here. We hope our doors open up new avenues of positive energy that create warmth and friendship – all important ingredients of a caring community.

We have tried to match the desires of our community members with what is offered each day so that many different programs and services can take place comfortably.

This information has been designed to be a quick reference guide for you. Welcome to the Adult Center — our setting for adult services in Longmeadow.

Mission Statement

The Longmeadow Adult Center is a community-based center in Longmeadow which affirms the dignity and potential of older people. The Center fosters respect, independence and personal growth for each individual. As a community resource, it provides access to supportive services and programs. Residents are encouraged to make their voices heard and to contribute to the Center and their community.

Board of Directors

The Board is composed of Longmeadow residents who are appointed by the Board of Selectmen. The Board works with residents and staff to address issues and programs that affect seniors.

General Information

Who can participate?

The Adult Center provides services to all Longmeadow residents who are over sixty years of age or are a family member or friend of someone who is over age 60.

Address and Phone Number

The Adult Center is located in Greenwood Park at 231 Maple Road, Longmeadow, MA 01106. Our phone number is 413-565-4150. Transportation call HULMES TRANSPORTATION at 413-739-7436 or 1-866-277-7741.

Center Hours

The Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm. The Center is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and the following major holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King’s Birthday, Presidents’ Day, Patriot’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following day, Christmas Day.

Weather Closings

The Adult Center Programs, including daily congregate meals and meals on wheels, follow the closing schedule for the Longmeadow Schools for inclement weather. When the schools are closed for weather issues, the Adult Center is closed for activities. Stay tuned to CBS Channel 3 or ABC News 40 for closing information.
