  • GROUNDS DIVISION SEASONAL LABORER-The Longmeadow Public Works Department is seeking a seasonal laborer to assist in the daily maintenance of the athletic fields and grounds.  Work includes but is not limited to removing garbage, mowing, trimming, lining and preparing playing fields. Must have a valid drivers license please provide a current driving record.  Salary $12-$15 per hour DOE.  Applications available at the HR Dept, 735 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow, MA01106.  Open until filled.  Longmeadow is an AA/EEO Employer.
  • CROSSING GUARD RESERVE- PT-  The Longmeadow Police Department is actively seeking two (2) reserve/substitute crossing guards to work at least two (2) days per week; additional hours are available. Substitute crossing guards are necessary as they assist the police department in staffing school crossing posts whenever regularly assigned crossing guards are absent.   The police department’s crossing guards are responsible for ensuring the safety of children traveling to and from the town’s schools.  Work includes stopping traffic and escorting children safely across streets.  Most crossing assignments are approximately 45 minutes in duration per crossing period.  Usually, morning crossings starting at about 8:00 AM with dismissal time crossings beginning at about 2:40 PM.  Compensation is currently set at $10.33 per crossing period.  For further information on the school crossing guard program, please telephone Crossing Guard Supervisor Linda Mooney at 567-3311 ext 132. Tuberculosis (Tb) Test Information:

The Longmeadow Board of Health requires all new Longmeadow Public School employees who may have direct contact with students to provide documentation of testing for tuberculosis.  This testing must be performed within 90 days prior to employment.  Written results of TB skin tests performed by the Board of Health of your town of residence or at a physician’s office will also be accepted.  Please note that you may be charged for testing at these sites.

New, or re-hired, School Employees cannot start working until written documentation is received that he/she is free of the communicable form of tuberculosis.

Three days are required to obtain TB test results.  Individuals are tested and must return on the third day after the test to have their tests “read” and obtain the required documentation.

The Longmeadow Community Health Nurse, Carol Steiner, will perform this test free of charge by appointment on Monday or Tuesday from 9:00 – 2:30 p.m. and tests can be read by appointment on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays during the hours of 9:00 – 2:30 p.m.
