- SUBSTITUTE LIBRARY ASSISTANT- Town of Longmeadow seeks substitute library assistant. Hours will vary, must be available some Saturdays and week day evenings. Qualifications include 1-3 years of library experience, familiarity with current technology and online applications, knowledge of library policies, practices and procedures, and excellent communication skills. - CROSSING GUARD- The Longmeadow Police Department is actively seeking two (2) full time crossing guards to work five (5) days per week; this would entail working a morning shift, and an afternoon shift, they run approximately 45 minutes in duration per crossing period. Morning crossing starts at approximately 8:00 am with dismissal crossing at approximately 2:40 pm. The Police Department crossing guards are responsible for ensuring the safety of children traveling to and from the Towns schools. Work includes stopping traffic and escorting children safely across streets. Compensation is currently set at $15.00 per hour. - FACILITIES DIRECTOR- INTERNAL POSTING- The Town of Longmeadow, MA is seeking qualified applicants for the FT position of Facilities Director. Oversees maintenance, repair and cleaning of school and town buildings, including development of preventive maintenance and capital plans; develops bid specifications. Responsible for compliance with town Environmental Management System as it relates to facilities. Prefer degree in engineering, solid background in electrical, mechanical, or structural or closely related field, with significant experience in developing preventive maintenance plans and facility equipment repair. Thorough understanding of operation and maintenance of HVAC systems and related controls. Minimum five (5) years experience in facility maintenance and construction and supervisory experience. Tuberculosis (Tb) Test Information:
The Longmeadow Board of Health requires all new Longmeadow Public School employees who may have direct contact with students to provide documentation of testing for tuberculosis. This testing must be performed within 90 days prior to employment. Written results of TB skin tests performed by the Board of Health of your town of residence or at a physician’s office will also be accepted. Please note that you may be charged for testing at these sites.
New, or re-hired, School Employees cannot start working until written documentation is received that he/she is free of the communicable form of tuberculosis.
Three days are required to obtain TB test results. Individuals are tested and must return on the third day after the test to have their tests “read” and obtain the required documentation.
The Longmeadow Community Health Nurse, Carol Steiner, will perform this test free of charge by appointment on Monday or Tuesday from 9:00 – 2:30 p.m. and tests can be read by appointment on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays during the hours of 9:00 – 2:30 p.m.
