Continue reading »]]> The Town of Longmeadow is accepting applications to fill two community member vacancies on the School Building Committee.  The term is for the duration of the project.  Under the guidelines of the Massachusetts School Building Authority, applicants should have experience with architecture, engineering and/or construction “to provide advice relative to the effect of the proposed project on the community and to examine building design and construction in terms of its constructability.” Experience on a similar building committee preferred. Application forms can be found on the Select Board page of the town website or in the Select Board’s office at 20 Williams Street.  Applications will be accepted until July 10.  Applicants will be notified of the date of the interviews with the Select Board once it has been established.

Continue reading »]]> On Sunday, June 2^nd, a dedication to Karen Neiman Michelman  was held at the Greenwood Center by her tennis group, Ace’s Wild. The group gathered to remember the beloved Adult Center Director who passed away last August and also to formally dedicate the donated marble bench in  the gardens of Greenwood Center in Karen’s name. The event was highlighted with stories of remembrance, both humorous and touching.  Karen will long be remembered for her dedication to the community and its seniors and her many  years of successful leadership at the Longmeadow Adult Center.
