The Longmeadow Newcomers' Club is an organization for women who have recently moved to Longmeadow, which enables them to meet others who are new as well.
Founded in 1963, the club has many subgroups, based on interests, in which the members can get involved. At present, the dues are $30 per year and members are able to participate in as many activities as desired. The monthly newsletter which advises newcomers of upcoming activities is sent to all dues paying members. Monthly meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. usually on the first or second Monday of the month at the Longmeadow Community House on Longmeadow Street. The club's year runs from September to early June.
Some of the activities offered include Ladies' Gourmet, Book Club, Tennis, Euchre (card game), Babysitting Co-op, Creative Home, Young Children's Playgroup and Help for the Hungry and Homeless. There are also groups in which the spouse/significant other is included. Among them are Couples Potluck, Dinner/Theater Group, Couples Game Night and Couples Volleyball.
