Books and Babies![]() The Books and Babies program is designed for children between the ages of 18 - 24 months. The library offers Books and Babies to encourage your child's love of reading and social growth. Children are never too young to love reading. Your baby will enjoy our lap and sit program and unstructured play time. Books and Babies includes nursery rhymes, songs, books, finger plays, and time for play. Siblings may not attend. We provide the books and toys. Children practice early social skills and discover the magic of books while moms, dads, and caregivers learn the value of reading to their little ones. Materials for the program have been donated by the Longmeadow Lodge of Masons. Because community needs have strained our staff to the maximum, participation in the Books and Babies program is arranged to give an equitable opportunity for all to participate. Notification of enrollment by phone will be used. This procedure allows for the planning of materials, prevents overcrowding, and promotes the best library experience for young children and their parents or caregiver. Call the Discovery Room at 565-4182 for times and dates of sessions. Updated 3/2008 |
