LONG MEDDOWE DAYS 2008

The Longmeadow Historical Society is proud to present the 29th Annual Long Meddowe Days to occur on Saturday, May 17th, and Sunday, May 18th.

Long Meddowe Days continues on as a celebration commemorating our town history. The event takes places on our beautiful town Green. During Long Meddowe Days, the entire family will have a chance to shop for arts and crafts, take historic tours, march in the town parade, ride a pony, and enjoy musical entertainment all weekend long.

The celebration kicks off with Our Town Parade beginning at 9 AM on Saturday morning from St. Mary's School parking lot.

Long Meddowe Days 2008 will have an election dimension thanks to a Replica of an eight-foot canvas-covered ball used in 1840 to promote the election of William Henry Harrison. See additional information for more historical background on the Harrison campaign ball.

Peter Thomsen is retiring this year after 34 years at Longmeadow High School and has been named the Grand Marshall for this year's Town Parade. See Mr. Thomsen's biosketch for additional information on his great music career.

This year you can enjoy some events you’ve come to expect over the years as well as some new experiences.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact new chairperson Eileen Tremble Pisarski at 567-6688. Please save the dates and let’s look forward to a wonderful family event. Watch for upcoming information here.
