"MOMS OFFERING MOMS SUPPORT"

We are a support group designed just for you, the at-home mother! You are interested in the world around you, want a variety of activities for you and your children, and are proud of your choice of at-home mothering for your families! We know, because we're at-home mothers, too!

WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL
You need a support group that understands your special needs as an at-home mother and we're it! We are the first, largest and fastest growing support group specifically for ALL at-home mothers.

We meet during the day, when at-home mothers most need support!

We believe being a mother shouldn't isolate you, so mothers may bring their children with them! Having children present is considered a natural part of life!
We have an established support system for our local chapters. Our volunteer Regional Coordinators are experienced MOMS Club Moms who are ready to help the chapter every step of the way! There's even an established Yahoo! Group online "MOMS-Club-Members" where you can chat with MOMS Club members across the country. Check it out!

The MOMS Club is a nonprofit corporation and a 501 (C) (3) publicly- supported charity registered with the IRS!

MEMBERSHIP
We now have over 1,500 chapters with more than 75,000 members across the United States as well as some international chapters.

Full or part-time Longmeadow and East Longmeadow stay-at-home mothers (SAHMs) are welcome to join our chapter of friends.

We know being an at-home mother today means making a financial sacrifice, so our local chapter dues are only $20 per year! The money goes towards administrative costs such as postage, photocopies, supplies, national dues, and our monthly newsletter.

At-home mothers of any age children are welcome! You don't have to leave the group when your children enter school! We know you still need support as your children grow!

GOALS

  • To provide a support group for mothers who choose to stay at home to raise their children
  • To provide a forum for topics of interest to mothers
  • To help children in the community
  • To perform at least one or more service project yearly helping needy moms and/or children

PRINCIPLES

  • That women must be free to choose their personal path to fulfillment
  • That, for women who choose it, raising children is an important and fulfilling full-time job
  • That a family's decision for a mother to stay at home to raise the children often involves considerable financial sacrifice
  • That there is no one right way to raise children, but our members have a common concern in raising their children in a healthful way.

ACTIVITIES

The activities are planned and organized by the membership. Activities and Events are scheduled based upon the group's interest. We hold our monthly business meeting on either the 1st Monday or 1st Tuesday of each month. We currently meet at the Longmeadow Community House where we gather with friends and enjoy some light refreshments as well. As with all our activities (except Moms Night Out) children are always welcome.

Field trips to children's museums, zoos, parks, playgrounds, playgroups, arts & crafts, holiday parties, etc. name just a handful of things you can look forward to participating in as a member! Our membership is continually changing to meet the interests of our members!

Babysitting swaps arranged through individual members is not uncommon amongst our members. Once you get to know a few of us, you'll find others you'll feel comfortable with in asking to swap babysitting for a few hours-- an evening out with your husband; a doctor's appointment--any errand you would rather not bring the children to; shopping for your children's birthdays, etc.

Ever wish you knew someone with a child the same age as yours? Well, various playgroups are scheduled each week for all children (age-based as well as all-ages playgroups). It's a great opportunity for children to develop negotiating and social skills and it gives you the chance to discuss parenting issues with the other moms while your children have a great time developing friendships!

Moms Night Out will give us moms a chance to get out without the children/ husbands and have a great time! We work 24/7- it's the least we can do for ourselves! We Moms meet on a monthly basis to enjoy such things as a movie; a nice restaurant, scrap-booking or a relaxing spa night out-we sometimes just get together at each other's home for some laughs and fun over "take-out" or a potluck appetizers and/or dinners. Hey, we deserve it!
