Programs at the Adult Center

The Center has a wide variety of classes and activities offered to adults
of Longmeadow. Some are free of charge, and some have moderate charges. See monthly newsletter for additional details.

ART
Classes are offered utilizing a flexible format (drawing, sketching, etc) and medium of your choice: water colors, pastels, charcoal or pencil, etc. Geared to all levels of ability.

BRIDGE GROUPS
Bridge lessons are offered on Fridays at 10:00 A.M. and Duplicate Bridge is played on Mondays and Fridays at 12:30 P.M. The mixed bridge group meets Thursdays at 12:30 P.M.

COMPUTER CLASSES
We are pleased to periodically offer Beginner and Intermediate classes in computers, as well as another class in the Internet that features the Longmeadow.Org website.

COMPUTER CLUB MEETS
First Tuesday of each month - 9:30 AM
Join us for discussion, questions and venting frustrations concerning your usage of a computer.

DISCUSSION GROUP
Informal discussion of current events meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 1:00 pm.

GAMES
The Center offers Bridge, Cribbage, Pinochle, Scrabble. Mah Jongg and Trivia games.

FITNESS CLASSES:
We continue to offer our fitness classes at our satellite location at the First Church on Longmeadow St. Strength training from 9:00-10:00 AM. YMCA certified instructors. $2.50 per class. $30 for a punch card for 12 classes. Mix and match times as you choose on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Join any time. Pay instructor.

GOLF INSTRUCTION
Seasonal instruction provided with great results. See Monthly schedule for times and sign-up instructions.

INVESTMENT STUDY GROUP: Our Group meets to discuss investment options.

JEWELRY WORKSHOP
Participants design, repair and/or restring older pieces. Sandy Merrill has a huge inventory of beautiful supplies available for us to use. Fee $2.00 per class plus the cost of supplies. See Details of this month's activities for dates and times. Sandy teaches how to design and create necklaces, bracelets, earrings, etc. on the first and third Monday of the month at 12:30-2:00 PM.

LANGUAGES
We are pleased to be able to offer French, German, Spanish at no cost, due to generous volunteers.

PINOCHLE
Join the group Tuesdays at 10:00 A.M. There is always room for more players with this fun group of people.

MOVIE AFTERNOONS: Shown monthly on Fridays at 12:30 PM

PROGRAMS & WORKSHOPS
Programs presented regularly are designed to satisfy the wishes of any group. They include: Armchair travelogues; personal, physical and psychological self-improvement programs; refresher driving courses; appraisals; gardening; estate planning, etc. Workshops include a wide variety of crafts, etc.

TRIVIA CLUB
The Trivia club meets twice monthly as well as occasionally for tournament play.

SENIOR EXERCISE
Join us for a program of moderate exercise including a Strength Training session. Qualified YMCA instructor. Tai Chi and Yoga is offered.

TRAVEL GROUP
The Travel Group has done a wonderful job planning a well-thought out variety of trips for our Seniors. Call for details. See Travel Section for specifics on current trips.
