1. The "Go To" Box
To go directly to a place, we must know the address. Every computer connected to the Web and every Web page stored on that computer has a unique address. Every computer connected to the Web and every Web page stored on that computer has a unique address. In Internet lingo this is called a Uniform Resource Locator, usually shortened to URL.
For example, the web address for the Longmeadow town website is: http://www.longmeadow.org
You can enter an address directly in the Location Toolbar bar beneath the Toolbar (as we have done in the diagram below), or click on File in the menu bar and select Open Page to get a long rectangular 'Open Page' window.

2. Exercise - Going Places
- This exercise takes you on a short trip onto the Web.
- Click once on the location bar to activate it.

USAToday: http://www.usatoday.com
TIP: Don't enter the http://. Navigator assumes you want to go to a Web site.
