PLEASE NOTE: REGARDLESS OF WHEN YOUR MEDICAL OPEN ENROLLMENT PERIOD IS, ALL EMPLOYEES AND RETIREES HAVE AN ANNUAL OPEN ENROLLMENT PERIOD OF MAY 1- MAY 31 FOR VISION COVERAGE WITH CHANGES EFFECTIVE JULY 1.
On July 1, 2017 Vision insurance became available to Longmeadow employees and retirees through Davis Vision (under the parent company Versant Health). Information was available at the benefits fair on April 26, 2017, and employees and retirees had the opportunity to enroll during the Town's open enrollment period which occurred during the month of May 2017.
Active employees will continue to have the opportunity to enroll in Vision coverage upon hire, during the annual open enrollment periods each May, and with a Federal Qualifying Event.
Employees who retire with vision coverage will have the opportunity to maintain their Vision coverage at the same level while drawing a monthly pension. Employees who retire without Vision Coverage, or subsequently reduce or terminate their coverage after requirement, will not have an opportunity to increase or opt in at a later date.
