Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art that uses slow, smooth body movement and concentrates on breathing and balance to achieve a state of relaxation of both body and mind and chi (energy development). It is less strenuous than other martial arts that offers general health benefits including improved concentration, stress reduction, flexibility and strength.
Students in this beginner level program will learn the basic & fundamental principles of Yang Style Tai Chi chuan, with an emphasis on healthy & efficient breathing, stretching, and moving, as well as an introduction to part 1 of the 3-part form.
Your instructor is Sifu James P. Shea. He is a licensed Karate do and Tai Chi instructor and has been teaching for over 45 years.
