The Longmeadow Girls Lacrosse Association philosophy is to establish evenly balanced youth team rosters from Grades 3-8. We don't tier teams, creat A/B teams, travel teams, or any of the other popular terms common to the youth sports landscape.
Grades 3-4 are evenly divided by grade. For Grades 5-8, evenly balanced teams are established through objective outside evaluations and a draft system. Kids develop at their own pace and it is the endorsed model of major sports organizations to establish a positive youth sports cutlure. Establishing evenly balanced teams is also the official policy of the Western Mass Girls Lacrosse League, of which Longmeadow is a founding member. The emphasis is on FUN, LEARNING, RESPECTING THE GAME and SKILL DEVELOPMENT.
