Shotokan Karate-Do (SKIF System) is a traditional Japanese martial art. The study of karate is an inner search for growth and self-discipline, which encompasses many ideals. Students train in the basic exercises involving:
  • Blocking
  • Forms
  • Kicking
  • Punching
  • Self-defense
  • Sparring
  • Stances
A white karate uniform is required for class and can be ordered through the instructor. Your instructor is Sensei James Shea, a Longmeadow resident who has been teaching karate for over 40 years.

On Saturday June 2nd the LPRD New England Shotokan Karate-do's Spring 2018 group training was help at the Community House.  This year we invited Sensei Benjamin Selormey and his students from the Boys & Girls Club of Nashua, NH.  Instructors and students of all ages and levels from Longmeadow and Nashua, NH came together to train with Sensei James Shea.
