Public Participation Sought to Update Longmeadow’s Open Space and Recreation Plan

The Longmeadow Open Space and Recreation Committee is tasked with updating the Town’s 2012 Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) which guides Town decisions about open space and recreation management and growth over the next seven years. The OSRP assesses the current status of recreation and conservation lands in the community and identifies community needs based on a set of goals and objectives developed through a public comment process.

Members of the public are invited to participate in the planning process. Interested residents may respond to a survey at

Hard copies are available at Storrs Library, Town Hall, Community House, LPS Central Offices and Greenwood Center Council on Aging. SURVEYS CAN BE RETURNED TO THE COMMUNITY HOUSEPARKS AND RECREATION OFFICE Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Public input will also be sought through a community visioning session on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 7:00pm in the BTC at Longmeadow High School.

The OSRP is being developed with assistance from the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission.
